Overview
micro1 is building an AI training and evaluation project centered on intelligence operations and national security. The work calls on people who have served inside civilian intelligence agencies such as the CIA, NSA, MI6/SIS, or GCHQ. You will judge AI-generated scenarios that involve intelligence collection, operational planning, and national security decision-making. Your assessments help the model reason more accurately about real tradecraft and collection processes.
What You'll Do7
- Score AI-produced scenarios that cover intelligence collection, operational planning, and national security choices.
- Check whether described collection methods and operational steps match how real agencies work.
- Edit and strengthen intelligence case studies, analytical summaries, and scenario materials.
- Flag missing pieces, contradictions, and assumptions that would not hold up in practice.
- Write structured feedback that helps the AI improve its grasp of intelligence operations.
- Compare AI output against established collection requirements and legal authorities.
- Point out where interagency coordination or operational frameworks are misrepresented.
Requirements7
- Current or past professional service in a civilian intelligence agency, ideally in operations, collection, or collection management.
- Hands-on expertise in at least one collection discipline: HUMINT, SIGINT, OSINT, or a comparable field.
- Familiarity with civilian agency procedures, operational frameworks, legal authorities, and interagency coordination.
- Background in operational planning, drafting collection requirements, or evaluating intelligence information.
- Strong analytical judgment and close attention to detail.
- Clear written communication for structured reviews and feedback.
- Ability to assess realism and relevance in scenario-based materials.
Who Should Apply
The role suits former or current civilian intelligence professionals who have run collection or operational planning and can spot unrealistic assumptions in written scenarios. If you have worked in HUMINT, SIGINT, or OSINT and can explain tradecraft in plain writing, this project needs your review skills.
Salary Insight
The rate is $50 to $100 per hour. Final pay is discussed during the hiring process.
Application tip
In your application, name the civilian agency you served with and the collection discipline you practiced, such as HUMINT or SIGINT. Add one example where you evaluated intelligence information or wrote collection requirements, and state the outcome.
