Overview

Mercor works with a leading AI lab to test how well health models handle infectious disease cases, and the team needs board-certified ID physicians to serve as reviewers. Your day centers on de-identified patient charts: you read the record, then judge an AI answer against it for accuracy, safety, and fit with current standards of care. Plenty of tasks ask you to compare two model responses and pick the stronger one. You then write a short rationale that explains your call on clinical rigor, completeness, and clarity. Work runs remote on flexible part-time hours, and the project starts right away.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Score AI responses to infectious disease questions for clinical accuracy, safety, and agreement with current standards of care
  • 2Read de-identified patient charts and check every claim in a model answer against the source record
  • 3Compare paired model responses and decide which one holds up better against the chart
  • 4Write structured rationales that cover clinical reasoning, completeness, and clarity of the answer
  • 5Mark errors that could put a patient at risk and explain the risk in your notes
  • 6Call out gaps such as a missing step in the workup or a skipped safety check

Requirements7

  • 1MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • 2Board certification in ABIM Infectious Disease through an ABMS member board or the AOA
  • 3Active, unrestricted US medical license
  • 4Completed residency, plus a fellowship where your specialty requires one
  • 5Currently seeing patients in the US, with at least one year of independent practice since training
  • 6Three or more years of post-training experience preferred
  • 7Strong written communication and close attention to detail

Who Should Apply

Practicing ID physicians who hold an active US license and ABIM Infectious Disease certification, and who still see patients, fit this best. Candidates with three or more years past training and a habit of careful chart review will move through these evaluations with confidence.

Salary Insight

The post lists $200/hr, paid hourly across a flexible part-time schedule. That figure sits well above many remote chart-review engagements, which tracks with the board certification and active licensure the project asks for. Confirm the rate during credential verification.
