Overview
Mercor wants practicing clinicians to test AI assistants on tasks pulled straight from real clinical work. You write a short request the way a real user would type it, then stay in the conversation for several turns, correcting and questioning the assistant as it goes. Afterward you score the deliverable against a professional standard and note what held up and what failed. The work runs about 10 hours per week on a flexible schedule, all remote, at $39/hour.
What You'll Do6
- Draft brief, realistic healthcare requests in the same style a clinician or patient would actually type into a chat window.
- Stay with the assistant across multiple turns, redirecting it and answering follow-up questions as the task develops.
- Challenge the assistant when an answer drifts from accepted clinical practice instead of letting the error slide.
- Score both the conversation and the final output against the standard you would apply in your own practice.
- Write short written notes describing what the assistant handled well and where it fell short.
- Flag any answer that carries patient-safety risk so reviewers can see it.
Requirements6
- Active clinical background as a nurse, physician, pharmacist, therapist, or similar licensed practitioner.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- A current license is preferred.
- Comfort using AI chat assistants for work tasks, even if only now and then.
- Clear written English suitable for short evaluation notes.
- Access to the assistant in your country of residence.
Who Should Apply
Licensed clinicians with 3 or more years of practice who already poke at AI tools and can spot a flawed clinical answer fast. Nurses, pharmacists, physicians, and therapists who write clean English notes will settle in quickest.
Salary Insight
The role pays $39 per hour, a rate that lines up with mid-level clinical evaluation and annotation work. Expect roughly 10 hours a week, so treat it as a side engagement rather than a full income.
Application tip
Lead with your license type, your years in practice, and the clinical setting you work in. Name the specific tasks you could hand an AI assistant, such as medication reconciliation or triage notes, since reviewers match candidates to projects by domain.
