Healthcare Administrative Specialist | $40-$50/hr Remote
Overview
We’re looking for experienced professionals who handle the behind-the-scenes administrative and operational work that keeps healthcare organizations running smoothly. This isn’t a clinical or coding role — it’s about mastering the workflows that get patients registered, claims paid, and providers credentialed. You’ll bring your real-world expertise to help us map out each step of these processes using the tools you use daily.
What You'll Do6
- 1Manage patient access tasks including registration, scheduling, insurance verification, benefits interpretation, and referral coordination.
- 2Submit, track, and follow up on prior authorizations through payer portals and handle utilization management support.
- 3Own the full claims lifecycle: submission, status monitoring, denial management, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-up.
- 4Reconcile electronic remittance advices (ERAs) and payment postings against clinical charges.
- 5Support provider and payer operations such as credentialing, enrollment, payer configuration, appeals, and grievances.
- 6Administer health information and practice operations including medical records management, release of information, and day-to-day office tasks.
Requirements3
- 1At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a healthcare administrative or back-office role, working with the day-to-day workflows described above.
- 2Direct experience with payer portals (e.g., Availity, Optum/Change Healthcare, Waystar, Office Ally, or individual hubs like UHC Link, BCBS, or Aetna), plus EHR or practice-management platforms and clearinghouses.
- 3Currently employed in a healthcare administrative position and based in the United States.
Who Should Apply
You’re a practice administrator, revenue cycle analyst, medical billing coordinator, patient access lead, prior authorization specialist, denials resolution expert, or credentialing specialist who lives and breathes healthcare operations. You have deep familiarity with the systems and payer portals listed above and can describe every step of your workflow from memory. You’re looking to share your expertise on a flexible, remote, contract basis.
