Overview
This role is for a Graphic and Editorial Design Expert who can evaluate design work and explain the reasoning behind each judgment. You will review posters, covers, page layouts, and brand pieces, assessing hierarchy, typography, color, and production readiness. The position is fully remote and open worldwide, with pay ranging from $55 to $100 per hour. Your written explanations will help reviewers understand why one design succeeds and another falls short.
What You'll Do7
- Evaluate design submissions such as posters, covers, page layouts, and brand assets against a given brief and target audience.
- Assess visual hierarchy, spacing, typeface selection, color use, and the interplay between text and imagery.
- Identify production issues like incorrect formats, low-resolution images, margin errors, and print color problems.
- Verify that each design aligns with the brief and matches the brand or publication style.
- Write concise justifications for each decision so that reviewers can follow your reasoning.
- Compare multiple design options and determine which one better serves the brief and audience.
- Document clear, actionable feedback that points to specific elements in the design.
Requirements6
- Professional experience as a graphic designer, editorial designer, layout designer, publication designer, art director, or brand designer.
- Daily hands-on use of industry tools such as Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or Figma.
- A track record of real client or publisher projects, including briefs, revisions, production files, and final delivery.
- Ability to articulate why a design works or fails, with clear reasoning.
- Strong written English for explaining design decisions.
- Keen attention to detail and a solid grasp of layout design principles.
Who Should Apply
This role suits graphic designers, editorial designers, layout designers, or art directors who have shipped real client work and can explain design choices in plain English. If you regularly use InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, or Figma and have a sharp eye for layout and production details, you should apply.
