Overview

DevOps Engineer needed for a remote contractor role with micro1, focused on building scalable cloud infrastructure for a customer project. You’ll contribute to training next‑generation AI systems by applying your automation and IaC expertise to real-world inputs. A strong background in DevOps, coupled with solid communication skills, helps you shape model learning and evaluation. Expect to work with CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud platforms to maintain high standards of correctness and reproducibility. Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD, Python stand out as core tools in this engagement.

What You'll Do5

  • 1Design production‑style DevOps tasks around CI/CD pipelines, containers, orchestration, IaC, monitoring, and incident response
  • 2Create working reference solutions with clear setup and validation steps that others can reproduce
  • 3Evaluate AI‑generated outputs, pinpoint failures, and document precise corrections with reasoning
  • 4Uphold a strict quality bar for correctness and reproducibility in all tasks
  • 5Provide structured feedback to improve future task design and workflows

Requirements7

  • 13+ years of hands‑on experience in DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Infrastructure engineering
  • 2Proficient coding ability in Python, Go, Bash, or TypeScript (coding beyond scripts)
  • 3Deep practical knowledge of CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins), Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one cloud platform (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • 4Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
  • 5Advanced Linux skills and strong Git proficiency
  • 6Professional English communication skills, both written and spoken
  • 7Availability to contribute at least 20 hours per week

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in DevOps or a related role and hands‑on coding experience in one of Python, Go, Bash, or TypeScript. You should be comfortable building and validating IaC, pipelines, and containerized setups across AWS, GCP, or Azure, while explaining complex concepts clearly. This role is less suitable for someone who lacks practical CI/CD and Kubernetes experience or cannot commit the minimum 20 hours weekly. Common rejection factors include insufficient cloud or IaC depth, or weak written and verbal communication when documenting tasks and results.

Pay range is $50 - $100/hr; compensation specifics are discussed later in the process.
