Overview

micro1 seeks Data Science & Analytic Methodology SMEs to support a customer's high-impact project on advanced analytic pipelines and large language models (LLMs). Your domain expertise will help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn and reason. You'll map scaled-analysis scenarios to a taxonomy, author realistic analytic cases, and grade model responses. No prior AI experience is required; deep data science knowledge is what matters.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Map scaled-analysis and pipeline-integration scenarios to an established taxonomy across key evaluation areas.
  • 2Author detailed analytic cases that mirror real deployment patterns, including automated triage, enrichment, and analysis-at-scale, plus representative failure modes.
  • 3Grade model responses on criteria such as source handling, reasoning, understanding of limitations, and practical utility.
  • 4Flag instances of model over-refusal that could block legitimate analytic workflows or disrupt pipeline continuity.
  • 5Document challenging edge cases and emerging methodology concerns, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • 6Deliver clear written and verbal feedback that supports iterative, high-quality project outcomes.

Requirements7

  • 1Demonstrated experience integrating LLMs (e.g., government GPT variants) into complex data or analytic pipelines.
  • 2Proven capability in conducting analysis at scale, with understanding of automation failure modes and relevant evaluation metrics.
  • 3Track record of teaching, mentoring, or technical leadership in data science or related analytic disciplines.
  • 4Expertise in authoring clear, concise technical documentation and conveying complex concepts through strong written English.
  • 5Exposure to designing evaluation frameworks or benchmark systems.
  • 6Familiarity with defense, intelligence, or government analytic domains is highly valued.
  • 7Ability to operate effectively in distributed, international project environments with minimal clearance constraints.

Who Should Apply

Data science practitioners with hands-on experience embedding LLMs into analytic pipelines and a knack for explaining complex ideas in writing. Mentors or technical leads who have designed evaluation frameworks and understand automation failure modes. Background in defense, intelligence, or government analytics is a plus.
