Overview
Mercor hires a Customer Experience Operations specialist to own the full expert journey on the platform, from the first onboarding step through support, payments, and project matching. The work sits at the center of several teams: you coordinate owners in Engineering, Operations, Product, and Talent Success so problems that cross team lines actually reach a fix. Day to day you watch feedback, support tickets, and data for signs of expert friction, then push the right team to resolve it. Claude, coding agents, and other AI automation tools form part of your daily workflow for drafting processes, summarizing feedback, and keeping sprint cycles short. This is a full-time role on Mercor's internal team, and the company hires only candidates based in India.
What You'll Do6
- Take ownership of cross-functional workstreams that shape the expert experience, covering onboarding, support, payments, and project matching.
- Set priorities and run regular check-ins with owners across Engineering, Operations, Product, and Talent Success, clearing blockers and holding each owner to agreed deadlines.
- Read feedback, support tickets, and platform data to find points where experts get stuck, then convert those findings into ranked, well-scoped requests for the relevant teams across timezones.
- Design and maintain light processes, dashboards, and playbooks that keep work flowing without adding heavy process overhead.
- Apply AI tools each day to automate repetitive tasks, condense feedback into summaries, draft new processes, and speed up sprint cycles.
- Give product managers and leadership a clear read on progress and risk, with the detail they need to make decisions.
Requirements9
- Hands-on operator background: you have founded or run a startup, or held a high-ownership operations, product ops, or chief-of-staff role.
- Record of driving work through influence, coordinating engineers, operators, and other stakeholders without formal authority over them.
- Ready fluency with AI tools such as Claude, agents, and automation platforms, plus curiosity about new ways to apply them.
- Structured and organized, with sound judgment about which problems deserve attention first.
- Clear, concise writing and communication across teams and timezones.
- Comfort operating amid ambiguity in a startup that moves fast.
- Nice to have: experience with marketplaces, gig or contractor platforms, or customer and talent experience functions.
- Nice to have: working comfort with data through SQL, spreadsheets, or BI tools.
- Nice to have: a track record of building internal tools or workflows with no-code or AI tooling.
Who Should Apply
Operators who have run a startup or owned an operations, product ops, or chief-of-staff function and want a cross-team role with real scope. Candidates based in India who already work with Claude, agents, or automation tools and can push priorities across Engineering, Product, and Talent Success fit best.
Salary Insight
This role pays $35,000 to $50,000 per year. That band matches an internal operations position with a few years of ownership experience, so bring evidence of startup or chief-of-staff work when you negotiate.
