Overview

micro1 is seeking experienced Child & Online Safety experts to help train next-generation AI systems focused on protecting young people online. You'll apply your deep domain knowledge—no AI background required—to build mental-health safety evaluation frameworks and digital risk-assessment protocols. This contract role lets you directly shape how AI models handle crisis scenarios involving minors.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Build comprehensive taxonomies covering self-harm, suicide prevention, eating disorders, and emotional dependency in digital environments.
  • 2Define best-practice standards for providing digital clinical support and safety for adolescent mental health.
  • 3Design detection frameworks that automatically identify, flag, and evaluate harmful online content and advice related to youth mental-health crises.
  • 4Develop clinical response rubrics and escalation protocols for at-risk individuals in online spaces.
  • 5Collaborate with project leads to ensure all benchmarks and guidelines are grounded in current research and clinical best practices.
  • 6Offer expert insights on CSAM-adjacent policy and online exploitation dynamics to strengthen digital child safety measures.
  • 7Deliver clear written and verbal feedback that guides the ongoing improvement of AI safety tools and frameworks.

Requirements7

  • 1Licensed therapist, psychiatrist, clinician, or mental-health professional with hands-on crisis-care experience.
  • 2At least 5 years of focused work in adolescent mental health, suicide prevention, eating-disorder intervention, or a closely related field; 8–20 years preferred for senior contributors.
  • 3Proven expertise in clinical risk assessment and intervention within digital or online settings.
  • 4An advanced degree, specialized certification, or equivalent operational experience in mental-health or child safety.
  • 5Familiarity with evaluating or implementing CSAM-adjacent policies or working on child online exploitation prevention initiatives.
  • 6Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to translate complex clinical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • 7A recognized track record of impact in clinical, crisis-response, or safety evaluation communities.

Who Should Apply

This role is ideal for a licensed mental-health professional—such as a therapist, psychiatrist, or clinical social worker—who has extensive hands-on experience with adolescent crises and digital safety. You should be comfortable translating your clinical expertise into structured taxonomies and evaluation rubrics that can guide AI training. If you're passionate about protecting vulnerable youth online and want your knowledge to shape the next generation of safety tools, this is your opportunity.
