Overview

A contractor role focused on applying chemical expertise to support product development and AI training data for a leading scientific customer. You’ll perform both qualitative and quantitative analyses, design and interpret experiments, and document methods and results for reproducibility. The work includes translating complex chemistry concepts for non-specialist audiences and contributing domain knowledge to improve AI reasoning and datasets. Remote collaboration with project stakeholders centers on delivering clear insights from wet-lab work.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Conduct qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses and experiments to support product development, quality control, or process optimization.
  • 2Design and interpret laboratory experiments involving chemical reactions, synthesis, and separation techniques.
  • 3Document methodologies, data, and conclusions clearly to ensure reproducibility and scientific integrity.
  • 4Critically assess experimental outcomes and propose improvements or new investigative approaches.
  • 5Communicate findings in writing and speech to project stakeholders, offering actionable recommendations.
  • 6Translate complex chemistry concepts and results for non-specialist audiences.
  • 7Contribute domain-specific knowledge to enhance AI training datasets and reasoning capabilities.

Requirements7

  • 1Advanced degree in Chemistry or a closely related field is preferred.
  • 2Extensive hands-on experience with wet lab techniques, experimental design, and instrumentation.
  • 3Deep understanding of chemical reactions, analytical chemistry, and laboratory best practices.
  • 4Proven critical thinking and problem-solving in research or applied chemistry settings.
  • 5Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear technical narration.
  • 6Experience collaborating on interdisciplinary or cross-functional projects.
  • 7Familiarity with quality control, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines is a plus.

Who Should Apply

Ideal candidates bring deep wet-lab expertise and a track record of designing and interpreting experiments. They should be comfortable explaining complex chemistry concepts to non-specialists and contributing knowledge to AI training datasets. The role is less suitable for someone without hands-on lab experience or without experience communicating technical results. Common fit checks include demoing a past experimental design and illustrating how results informed a change; candidates without QA or safety guideline exposure may score lower.

Salary Insight

Pay ranges from 70 to 90 per hour for contract work. Pay details are provided here and discussed further during final negotiations.
