Chemistry Expert (PhD) | $80-$90/hr Remote
Overview
micro1 is seeking Chemistry PhDs to bring their deep subject-matter expertise to an exciting AI training project. In this remote contract role, you'll help teach large language models how to reason about chemistry by crafting accurate, well-explained answers to advanced questions. No prior AI experience is needed—your PhD-level chemistry knowledge is the star here.
What You'll Do7
- 1Write thorough, scientifically precise responses to complex chemistry queries that are designed to improve the reasoning capabilities of AI models.
- 2Review existing chemistry questions, data, and model outputs to ensure they are factually correct and follow current best practices.
- 3Develop detailed explanations and proofs across a broad spectrum of chemistry topics, from foundational principles to advanced specializations.
- 4Work closely with annotation leads and project managers to refine guidelines and uphold quality standards for training data.
- 5Create exemplary ‘golden’ answers that serve as benchmarks for future model outputs, ensuring consistency and reliability.
- 6Document the reasoning and context behind your answers to help AI models understand how conclusions are reached.
- 7Attend remote alignment sessions and workshops to stay coordinated with the broader contributor team.
Requirements7
- 1A PhD in Chemistry or a directly related scientific field with strong command of both fundamental and advanced topics.
- 2Proven ability to communicate intricate chemical concepts clearly in both written and verbal formats.
- 3Experience developing, reviewing, or publishing scientific or educational chemistry materials—such as research papers, curricula, or peer reports.
- 4Broad familiarity across multiple chemistry sub-disciplines (organic, inorganic, physical, analytical, materials science, etc.) and skill in tailoring explanations to different audiences.
- 5Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to scientific accuracy and methodological rigor.
- 6Any background in AI, data annotation, or digital content development is a plus but not required.
- 7Strong collaborative skills, especially in remote or cross-functional team settings.
Who Should Apply
