Overview
micro1 seeks professional pilots to support an AI aviation project. You will transcribe real air traffic control (ATC) radio transmissions and annotate flight instructions, using navigational charts and airport diagrams to ensure accuracy. Your domain knowledge directly improves how AI models interpret ATC communications. No AI background needed; pilot experience is what counts.
What You'll Do6
- Transcribe authentic ATC radio audio following project-specific guidelines.
- Identify and record key flight instructions such as headings, altitudes, and radio frequencies.
- Cross-check transcriptions against airport diagrams, navigational charts, and aircraft positioning data.
- Interpret varied communication styles, accents, and operational contexts from real-world ATC.
- Maintain transcription accuracy at or below a 2% word error rate.
- Provide feedback to refine guidelines, processes, and AI understanding of ATC communications.
Requirements7
- Active or former professional pilot with substantial real-world flight operations experience.
- Fluency in English and ability to interpret complex ATC instructions.
- Experience operating internationally, with exposure to regional and non-native English accents.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured annotation and transcription protocols.
- Comfort using digital tools, reference materials, and high-quality audio equipment in a remote setting.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace with good headphones.
- Prior data annotation, transcription, or structured data project experience is a plus.
Who Should Apply
Current or former professional pilots with international flight experience and sharp attention to detail. If you can decode diverse ATC accents and follow strict transcription protocols, this role fits your background.
