Overview
micro1 seeks certified Air Traffic Controllers to support an AI project centered on aviation communications. Your air traffic control background will directly shape how AI models learn from real-world radio transmissions. You will listen to authentic ATC audio and produce structured transcripts that meet strict accuracy standards. No AI experience is needed; your operational knowledge is the key qualification.
What You'll Do7
- Transcribe authentic ATC radio transmissions into accurate, structured text following detailed project guidelines.
- Pull out critical instructions such as headings, altitudes, frequencies, and clearances from each communication.
- Use airport diagrams, approach charts, and live aircraft positions to improve transcription accuracy.
- Resolve unclear or noisy audio segments by applying your operational air traffic control experience.
- Meet a stringent accuracy threshold, for example a word error rate of 2% or lower.
- Incorporate reviewer feedback through iterative rounds to raise transcript quality.
- Protect the confidentiality of all shared data and follow project security rules.
Requirements7
- Current or past certification as an air traffic controller in tower, approach, center, or ground operations.
- Fluent English in both writing and speech, with solid command of aviation phraseology.
- Ability to understand a wide range of accents, including those of international pilots.
- Keen attention to detail and a track record of consistent, high-quality transcription work.
- Comfort working alone with structured guidelines and tight quality benchmarks.
- Reliable internet access, a quiet workspace, and quality headphones for critical listening.
- Familiarity with aviation maps, charts, and navigation tools is a plus.
Who Should Apply
Certified air traffic controllers, current or former, who want to apply their aviation communication skills to AI training. The role suits someone with sharp listening, strong aviation phraseology, and comfort working independently against strict accuracy targets.
