Listing checked October 6, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 is looking for an AI/ML Engineer to join the internal platforms team and help build a next-generation AI recruiting agent. You will work with LLMs, LangChain, and FastAPI to create production-ready features that make the agent smarter and more reliable. This is a full-time remote role where you will experiment with the latest AI models and agent frameworks. The position offers a base salary of $130,000 to $160,000, plus equity and performance bonuses.
What You'll Do7
- 1Create and enhance AI agent capabilities using modern large language models.
- 2Write backend services and APIs in Python.
- 3Design and refine prompts, workflows, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent orchestration.
- 4Measure model performance and drive quality improvements through experimentation.
- 5Work with product and engineering teams to ship AI-powered features.
- 6Deploy and maintain scalable AI systems in production.
- 7Keep up with new AI models, tools, and best practices.
Requirements7
- 1Solid Python software engineering skills.
- 2Hands-on experience building applications with LLMs and AI APIs.
- 3Knowledge of agent frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
- 4Experience creating APIs with FastAPI or similar frameworks.
- 5Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- 6Strong problem-solving abilities and an experimental approach.
- 7Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Who Should Apply
This role suits engineers with a strong Python background who have built applications using LLMs and agent frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex. You should be comfortable with FastAPI, cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and eager to experiment with new AI models. It is less ideal for those who prefer purely front-end or non-AI backend work, or who lack experience with prompt engineering and RAG. Candidates often get rejected when they cannot show concrete examples of shipping AI features to production or when their Python experience is limited to scripting rather than building robust services.
Salary Insight
The national pay range for this full-time position is a base salary of $130,000 to $160,000 USD. Employees are also eligible for equity compensation and may receive performance-based bonuses. The company provides benefits including up to 100% reimbursement for health-insurance premiums, paid time off, and a 401(K) plan with a company match.
