Adolescent/Child Safeguarding & Exploitation Specialist
Listing checked October 6, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 is hiring Adolescent/Child Safeguarding & Exploitation Specialists to support a customer project that evaluates sexual safety and exploitation risk in adolescent scenarios. Your clinical expertise will directly inform how next-generation AI systems learn and reason about safeguarding. You will review complex cases, produce written guidance, and apply established frameworks to assess urgency and interventions. No AI background is needed; domain knowledge in child safeguarding, CSE/CSA risk assessment, and trauma-informed practice is what matters.
What You'll Do7
- 1Examine intricate adolescent cases to evaluate risks related to sexual safety and exploitation (CSE/CSA).
- 2Write clear, defensible safeguarding guidance that non-specialists can understand and act on.
- 3Use recognized risk-assessment and safeguarding frameworks to determine urgency and suitable interventions.
- 4Spot signs of grooming, coercion, and exploitation hidden within nuanced case details.
- 5Suggest protective measures and escalation routes, including when mandatory reporting is required.
- 6Apply a trauma-informed approach that considers developmental stage, capacity, and consent in every assessment.
- 7Compare your clinical judgments against peer standards and established protocols to maintain accuracy and reliability.
Requirements8
- 13–5+ years of post-qualification experience in child safeguarding, adolescent protection, or a related clinical role.
- 2Specialty background in child protection, forensic child/adolescent psychiatry or psychology, or paediatric medicine with a safeguarding remit.
- 3Active clinical license or registration in good standing.
- 4Current or recent (within the last two years) practice with an adolescent caseload or safeguarding work.
- 5Proven expertise in CSE/CSA risk assessment and mandatory-reporting requirements.
- 6Strong skills in trauma-informed practice and documentation.
- 7Exceptional written communication in research-grade English (native, or IELTS 7.5+ with writing 7.0+, TOEFL 100+, Cambridge C1–C2, or equivalent).
- 8Experience in a designated safeguarding or expert-witness capacity, plus familiarity with ACEs and trauma frameworks, is a plus.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate holds an active clinical license and has at least 3–5 years of post-qualification work in child safeguarding or adolescent protection, with recent hands-on practice. You should be comfortable assessing CSE/CSA risk, applying trauma-informed principles, and writing clear guidance for non-specialists. This role suits someone who can start within 24–48 hours of onboarding and has strong research-grade English writing skills. It is less suitable for early-career professionals or those without a current license or recent adolescent caseload. Candidates often get rejected when they lack documented experience in mandatory reporting or cannot provide evidence of recent safeguarding practice. Another common reason for low fit scores is insufficient written English proficiency, since the work demands precise, defensible documentation.
