Software Engineer, Full Stack (Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++) | $50-$65/hr Remote
Overview
This role puts you inside a leading AI lab's generative AI team, where you'll build production-grade full-stack applications that push frontier large language models to their limits. You'll integrate unreleased model APIs into working software, uncover edge-case failures, and iterate quickly in a fast-paced research environment. The position is a full-time (40 hours/week) remote W-2 engagement through Cincinnatus LLC, with pay at $50–65 per hour.
What You'll Do5
- 1Design, build, and ship full-stack applications, services, and internal tools using Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, or TypeScript to exercise frontier model capabilities end to end.
- 2Connect pre-release model APIs into functional software, including the surrounding tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and telemetry.
- 3Identify and document model and integration failure modes encountered during development, and turn your engineering observations into clear written feedback for the research team.
- 4Prototype quickly against shifting requirements, delivering working increments without waiting for detailed up-front specifications.
- 5Collaborate with the engineering manager and other engineers to keep code quality, architecture, and technical documentation consistent across projects.
Requirements6
- 13+ years of dedicated professional experience building and shipping production software at a recognized, top-tier organization.
- 2Production experience in at least one of Python, Java, Rust, C#, or C++, plus working proficiency in a second language.
- 3Hands-on full-stack experience: backend services and APIs, a modern frontend framework like React (or equivalent), relational or document databases, and cloud deployment.
- 4A proven ability to onboard onto an unfamiliar codebase and deliver working code quickly with minimal ramp-up.
- 5Demonstrable career progression and reliability to engage at least 40 hours per week during weekdays.
- 6Strong written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical decisions.
