Software Engineer, Full Stack — India | $25-$30/hr Remote
Overview
Full-stack engineers on this team build and test real software against pre-release models from a top-tier AI lab. You will work directly with the lab's engineering manager and ship working code within your first days. The stack spans Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, and TypeScript, and the lab expects you to integrate model APIs into complete applications with tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and telemetry. The engagement is full-time and remote for engineers based in India, at 40 hours per week.
What You'll Do5
- 1Ship full-stack applications, services, and internal tools written in Python, Java, Rust, C#, C++, or TypeScript, designed to stress-test frontier model capabilities across the entire workflow.
- 2Connect pre-release model APIs to functional software, including the supporting layers: tool interfaces, evaluation harnesses, and telemetry.
- 3Pinpoint model and integration failures that surface during development and turn those findings into clear written notes for the research team.
- 4Develop prototypes at speed as requirements shift, delivering working increments even when the specification stays thin.
- 5Work alongside the engineering manager and peers to keep code quality, architecture, and technical docs consistent across projects.
Requirements7
- 1At least three years of professional experience shipping production software at a recognized, top-tier company.
- 2Deep production skill in one language from Python, Java, Rust, C#, or C++, plus working skill in a second language from that set.
- 3Comfort across the full stack: backend services and APIs, a modern front-end framework like React or equivalent, relational or document databases, and cloud deployment.
- 4Proven ability to get up to speed on an unfamiliar codebase and contribute working code with minimal ramp-up.
- 5A track record of steady career progression.
- 6Availability for 40 hours per week on weekdays.
- 7Clear written communication that explains complex technical decisions plainly.
Who Should Apply
A candidate who thrives on building software against moving research targets and wants to see their work affect pre-release AI models. This role suits an engineer who enjoys debugging at the edge of model behavior and can write precise, useful feedback for researchers. It is less suitable for someone who prefers stable, fully specified product requirements or a role that never touches the underlying model API. Common rejection reasons include lacking production experience in a second language, having no track record of shipping code fast in an unfamiliar codebase, or being unable to commit to 40 weekday hours.
Salary Insight
The advertised rate is $25.00 to $30.00 per hour. With a 40-hour week that works out to roughly $4,000 to $4,800 per month, which aligns with market rates for India-based full-stack engineers at this seniority.

Application Tip
When you apply, name the second programming language you use in production and point to a specific project where you integrated a third-party or pre-release API. Better yet, include a short note about how you debugged an unfamiliar codebase in your first two weeks.
