Secretary & Admin Assistant – Remote Contract
Listing checked September 17, 2026 · pay as published by Micro1
Overview
micro1 is hiring Secretary & Admin Assistants to build expert-authored evaluation tasks for a frontier AI benchmark. You will design realistic administrative scenarios that test how AI agents handle multi-tool coordination, such as calendar reconciliation, travel and expense workflows, records management, and professional correspondence. This is a remote contractor role where your administrative expertise directly shapes how models learn to reason through complex office operations. No prior AI experience is needed. Your domain knowledge is the key qualification.
What You'll Do6
- 1Create process-driven evaluation tasks that require coordinating across multiple tools, including calendar reconciliation, travel and expense workflows, records management, and professional correspondence.
- 2Assemble authentic data artifacts such as emails, calendar entries, receipts, meeting notes, and contact records to support each evaluation scenario.
- 3Define correct solutions and map the step-by-step decisions an expert would make to reach the best outcome in every scenario.
- 4Build comprehensive rubrics with 35 or more criteria that assess both process adherence and nuanced judgment calls in AI agent outputs.
- 5Document workflow processes and recommend improvements that reflect current best practices in the administrative domain.
- 6Work with project leads to calibrate task complexity and ensure alignment with real-world challenges faced by experienced professionals.
Requirements7
- 15+ years supporting teams or departments in mid-to-large organizations in a professional administrative capacity.
- 2Proven process ownership, with responsibility for ongoing, recurring workflows rather than one-off assignments.
- 3Expertise in documenting, evaluating, and improving inherited administrative procedures.
- 4Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a firm grasp of professional correspondence standards.
- 5Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in both content creation and process documentation.
- 6Comfort working with a variety of digital tools, platforms, and data formats such as CSVs, PDFs, spreadsheets, and technical documents.
- 7Enthusiasm for shaping the future of intelligent systems by sharing domain-specific knowledge and best practices.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate has at least five years of administrative experience in mid-to-large organizations, with a track record of owning recurring processes and improving inherited procedures. You should be comfortable documenting workflows, building detailed rubrics, and working across tools like spreadsheets, PDFs, and calendar systems. This role is less suitable for someone who has only handled ad-hoc tasks or lacks experience evaluating and refining administrative processes. Candidates often get rejected when they cannot show process ownership or when their writing samples lack the precision and professional tone required for correspondence standards. Another common reason for low fit scores is a lack of comfort with structured documentation and data formats.
