Overview
Mercor is looking for a seasoned Pro Bono Counsel to help refine AI systems that assist with civil legal services. In this remote, hourly role, you'll apply your broad civil practice expertise to evaluate AI-generated legal analyses, focusing on access-to-justice issues. Your structured feedback will directly improve the quality and accuracy of the AI's legal reasoning.
What You'll Do5
- 1Analyze AI-produced legal content for accuracy and clarity.
- 2Assess legal scenarios involving housing, family law, consumer protection, foreclosure, and debt matters.
- 3Evaluate the AI's legal reasoning and procedural recommendations.
- 4Identify errors and overlooked access-to-justice considerations in the AI's output.
- 5Provide clear, written evaluations to guide AI improvements.
Requirements5
- 1A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in a U.S. state bar.
- 2Proven experience managing or contributing to pro bono legal initiatives.
- 3Strong background in civil legal practice with excellent legal writing and analytical skills.
- 4Preference for candidates who have served as Pro Bono Counsel or Pro Bono Partner, organized legal clinics, or worked across multiple civil practice areas.
- 5Familiarity with legal technology or AI is a plus.
