Overview

micro1 seeks specialists with hands-on experience in PhysioNet Challenges or similar biomedical signal processing and machine learning competitions. You will design and solve advanced technical problems using Python or MATLAB, working with physiological signals like ECG, EEG, or PPG. The role is fully remote and flexible, about 15 hours per week, with pay ranging from $60 to $120 per hour. Your work helps improve next-generation AI systems by turning noisy clinical data into reproducible analyses.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Design self-contained technical problems that involve biomedical signals, time-series data, signal processing, and machine learning.
  • 2Build reference solutions in Python, MATLAB, or another scientific computing environment.
  • 3Handle tasks such as signal preprocessing, filtering, segmentation, feature extraction, representation learning, classification, and forecasting.
  • 4Explain the methods you developed, the experiments you ran, and the technical decisions you owned.
  • 5Validate results to ensure analyses are rigorous and reproducible.
  • 6Work with real-world physiological data that may be noisy or incomplete.

Requirements6

  • 1Participation in a PhysioNet/Computing in Cardiology Challenge or a comparable biomedical signal processing or scientific machine learning competition.
  • 2Strong competition results and evidence of a substantive personal technical contribution.
  • 3Public evidence of your work through an official team result, conference paper, technical report, open-source repository, or meaningful code contribution.
  • 4Hands-on experience with physiological signals such as ECG, EEG, PPG, EMG, respiratory signals, polysomnography, or other clinical time-series data.
  • 5Ability to explain the methods you developed, the experiments you ran, and how you validated results.
  • 6No prior experience with AI training projects is required.

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate has competed in a PhysioNet Challenge or similar event and can show a clear personal technical contribution. You have worked directly with physiological signals and can turn noisy data into a rigorous, reproducible analysis using Python or MATLAB.

Salary Insight

Pay is $60 to $120 per hour. Compensation is output-based: you are paid per task that meets project specifications, and the time per task varies with your experience and workflow. Minimum submission requirements apply.
