MLOps Engineer (JAX, PyTorch, Pallas/Triton) | $70-$110/hr Remote
Overview
This role puts you at the center of building next-generation AI models, working hands-on with frameworks like JAX, PyTorch, and kernel-level tools such as Pallas and Triton. You'll design MLOps tasks, evaluate solutions, and create high-quality training data that directly improves frontier AI systems. It's a 40-hour per week, fully remote W-2 position through Cincinnatus LLC, placed at a leading AI lab.
What You'll Do5
- 1Bridge gaps between research and engineering teams to boost model performance in MLOps, training infrastructure, and ML framework-level areas.
- 2Create challenging, domain-specific problems and write clear, well-structured solutions for MLOps and ML systems challenges.
- 3Review and assess MLOps tasks and solutions, delivering detailed written technical feedback to improve quality.
- 4Build guidelines and evaluation rubrics that measure training pipeline design, distributed systems reasoning, and kernel-level optimization across different tasks.
- 5Work with other subject-matter experts to maintain consistency and accuracy in the training data generated.
Requirements5
- 1At least 2 years of professional experience in ML infrastructure, MLOps, or ML systems engineering at a recognized top-tier company.
- 2Hands-on production work with JAX and/or PyTorch at scale.
- 3Experience writing or optimizing custom GPU kernels using Pallas (JAX) or Triton.
- 4Clear career progression in prior roles and the ability to reliably commit 40 hours/week during weekdays.
- 5Strong written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical decisions in a straightforward way.
Who Should Apply
You're an MLOps engineer who thrives at the intersection of research and production — you know how to set up efficient training pipelines and are comfortable digging into kernel-level code. You enjoy designing rigorous evaluation frameworks and can articulate technical trade-offs clearly. Reliability and ownership matter to you, and you're excited to contribute directly to cutting-edge AI development.
Salary Insight
The pay range is $70.00 - $110.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Application Tip
When you apply, include a brief write-up or link to a project where you optimized a GPU kernel (e.g., a custom Triton kernel) — that concrete example will set you apart from other candidates.
