The engagement is a freelance contract that requires 20 to 40 hours per week, with a 4-hour overlap with Pacific Time.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Create new, difficult math problems designed to push language models beyond simple pattern matching, with an emphasis on multi-step, abstract, and proof-based reasoning.
  • 2Solve these problems yourself and produce step-by-step written solutions that include clear logical justifications for every major move.
  • 3Evaluate solutions generated by AI models, spot mathematical mistakes or omitted arguments, and deliver precise feedback, annotations, and corrections.
  • 4Help build fresh evaluation benchmarks grounded in mathematics curricula, spanning early undergraduate through PhD-level material.
  • 5Write and test Python programs for computational math tasks, using only approved scientific libraries and verifying the numeric outputs.
  • 6Translate math problems and proofs into Lean's formal language, then check that the formal proofs compile without errors.

Requirements7

  • 1A master's degree, PhD, or postdoctoral standing in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • 2Strong research and analytical skills with a track record of solving complex mathematical problems in a structured, logical way.
