What You'll Do5

• Design expert-level linguistics problems and scenarios that mirror real analytical, corpus, and computational workflows.
• Assess AI responses for technical accuracy, analytical depth, and fit with established linguistic practice.
• Write structured feedback that points out errors, gaps, and reasoning flaws in model outputs.
• Apply your specialization in morphology, syntax, phonology, corpus methods, or phonetics to guide model evaluation.
• Set your own hours and complete assignments at a pace that works with your other commitments.

Requirements10

• PhD or MS in Linguistics or Computational Linguistics.
• Research record with publications and proven expertise in a language or linguistic phenomenon that AI models struggle with.
• Depth in at least one sub-domain: morphology, syntax, or phonology with formal grammars; corpus methods and low-resource languages; or phonetics using Praat and IPA along with computational/NLP tools.
• Meet at least two of the three core qualifications above if you do not meet all three.
• US work authorization.
• Clear written communication and close attention to detail.
• Ability to explain complex linguistic concepts in plain terms.
• Comfort working on your own in a remote, asynchronous setting.
• Bonus: skill with computational/NLP tooling and corpus analysis software.
• Bonus: experience with low-resource or typologically diverse languages.
