- 2Produce clear reference solutions using engineering calculations, simulations, scripts, or experimental reasoning.
- 3Validate outcomes with tools such as Python, MATLAB, Simulink, SPICE, Julia, C/C++, or test automation platforms.
- 4Ensure every problem and solution can be independently verified and reproduced.
- 5Connect first-principles reasoning to practical constraints when shaping each challenge.
- 6Meet minimum submission requirements for each task assigned.
- 7Complete your first task within 24 to 48 hours of finishing onboarding.
Requirements6
- 1Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a closely related field.
- 2Significant professional or research experience in hardware engineering, product development, systems integration, testing, validation, reliability, or failure analysis.
- 3Proven ownership of a substantial engineering problem, such as a product or subsystem that reached production, a model validated against physical testing, a test system you built, or a difficult failure you diagnosed.
- 4Must have experience working with Coding Agents.
- 5Ability to create problems and solutions that stand up to independent verification.
- 6Comfort using engineering software and scripting tools to support your work.
Who Should Apply
Hardware engineers with an MSc or PhD and a track record of owning complex technical work, from production systems to validated models or failure diagnosis. You must have hands-on experience with Coding Agents and be ready to start within 24 to 48 hours.

AfterQuery
VerifiedMechanical Hardware Design Engineer
AfterQuery seeks senior mechanical and hardware design experts for a research cohort that tests how frontier AI models handle hard, real-world problems. The work spans CAD, RTL, and robotics, and it focuses on evaluation rather than production engineering. You will define what correct and excellent look like, write reference solutions, and apply grading rubrics to AI outputs. The role runs remote and asynchronous, and the team favors candidates who meet at least 70% of the stated qualifications. A PE license or Master's degree stands out, and 8 to 12 years of hands-on experience sets the baseline.

Micro1
VerifiedMechanical Engineering Expert (MSc. or PhD)
micro1 seeks a Mechanical Engineering expert to join an AI training project. You will build and check engineering tasks that span structural, thermal, mechanical, and multiphysics work. A typical assignment might involve turning physical requirements into a computational model, generating geometry or a mesh, setting materials and boundary conditions, running a simulation, and judging whether the result meets design constraints. This is a coding-heavy role, so comfort with Python and coding agents is central. The position is fully remote and global, with about 15 hours per week on a flexible schedule you control.

Handshake AI
VerifiedElectrical Engineering Expert
Handshake AI engages experienced electrical and computer engineers for part-time contract work that advances AI research. The project asks you to use hands-on industry knowledge in power systems, semiconductors, or embedded/RF design to judge AI output and write feedback that teaches models how a working engineer thinks. You create expert-level problems, review model answers for technical accuracy and practical feasibility, and submit structured critiques. Work runs as an ongoing project alongside your current role. Tasks follow your schedule, with no minimum hour requirement.

Handshake AI
VerifiedElectrical Engineering Expert - Remote Canada
Handshake AI hires practicing electrical and computer engineers to shape how AI models handle real engineering judgment. You will create power systems, semiconductor, or embedded/RF problems drawn from design, test, and field work, then score model answers for technical accuracy and practical feasibility. The engagement runs as a part-time fellowship with no fixed hours, so you can keep your current engineering job. Your written critiques become training signals that push the model toward the reasoning style of a working engineer.

Mercor
VerifiedMechanical Engineering Experts
Mercor needs mechanical engineers for an AI research project with a major technology company. You will use your hands-on background in structural analysis, thermal systems, mechanical design, or dynamics and controls to judge real hardware problems. The work centers on evaluating designs, simulations, test plans, failure modes, and manufacturing risks rather than writing code. Engineers who have owned physical products from requirements through validation will find the tasks familiar. The engagement is remote and pays by the hour.

Micro1
VerifiedEngineering Expert
