Overview
Outlier supplies AI companies with the human recordings that teach models how people sound when they speak: the tone, the emotion, the intent behind the words. On this project you record short clips in French and perform brief scripts across a wide spread of moods and delivery styles. Some tasks flip the direction, asking you to listen to audio and write down the details you catch. The setup is simple: a quiet room, a steady connection, and a voice with real range.
What You'll Do5
- Record short audio clips in French with your own voice.
- Perform brief scripts in varied tones, emotions, and speaking styles.
- Listen to audio samples and capture the details in written text.
- Support AI systems as they learn to read human speech, tone, and expression.
- Follow project guidance on delivery, pacing, and recording quality.
Requirements5
- Native fluency in French.
- Clear voice with genuine emotional and tonal range.
- A quiet space free of background noise for recording.
- Reliable internet connection.
- Residency in one of the eligible posting countries.
Preferred Qualifications4
- Theater, improv, acting, or voiceover background
- Classical vocal training or public speaking experience
- Professional microphone or home studio setup
- Prior experience recording audio content
Who Should Apply
French speakers who sound at ease behind a microphone and enjoy bringing a script to life. Actors, podcasters, call center staff, and presenters fit well here. Formal voice training helps but does not gate the role.
Salary Insight
Core project work pays up to $25 USD per hour. That lands in the typical band for freelance voice recording and AI audio data work, and Outlier layers on Missions, its surge-style bonus, when demand spikes. Onboarding, assessments, and some non-core tasks can pay a different rate, and the final figure depends on your skills assessment, location, and project needs.
