Overview

Mercor seeks experienced Financial Managers to evaluate and improve AI systems that generate financial management content and workflows. Your background in accounting, banking, credit, and financial planning will inform reviews of budgets, forecasts, and reports. The project runs about 4 to 6 weeks, starts right away, and asks for 20 or more hours each week. You will assess how well AI responses handle branch, office, or department-level financial work.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Score AI-generated financial plans, budgets, and forecasts for accuracy and quality.
  • 2Compare competing AI responses head-to-head on financial soundness, regulatory compliance, and analytical rigor.
  • 3Review scenarios that cover cash flow oversight, budgeting choices, pricing decisions, and financial reporting.
  • 4Provide written expert feedback that explains gaps, risks, or errors in an AI response.
  • 5Apply your own experience overseeing accounting, banking, credit, insurance, securities, or financial planning to each evaluation.
  • 6Help improve AI systems by identifying where financial management outputs miss real-world standards.

Requirements5

  • 14+ years in a Financial Manager, Finance Director, Branch Manager, Financial Planning Manager, Financial Reporting Manager, or similar financial management post.
  • 2Hands-on oversight of accounting, banking, credit, insurance, securities, or financial planning at the branch, office, or department level.
  • 3Availability for at least 20 hours per week.
  • 4Strong written English communication.
  • 5Ability to start right away and stay for a project of roughly 4 to 6 weeks.

Who Should Apply

The ideal candidate has at least four years in financial management, with hands-on control over accounting, banking, credit, insurance, securities, or financial planning at a branch, office, or department level. You write clear English, can set aside 20 or more hours each week, and want a short, focused AI evaluation project that starts soon. This role suits senior finance professionals who enjoy judging budgets, forecasts, cash flow plans, and pricing decisions against real regulatory and analytical standards. Junior analysts, candidates without branch or department oversight, and anyone unable to commit the weekly hours or the 4 to 6 week timeline will find this role a poor fit. Applications often lose points when the candidate lists general finance duties instead of specific oversight areas, or when they cannot show strong written English through their answers.

Salary Insight

Pay is listed at $70.00 to $110.00 per hour. That band fits senior finance managers with director-level scope or specialized oversight in areas like accounting, banking, credit, insurance, securities, or financial planning. The first task is task-based, with payment after first task approval. Complete that first task inside the required timeline, and you move to hourly pay for the rest of the project.

Application Tip

Lead your application with 4+ years of financial management and name the exact areas you oversaw at branch, office, or department level, such as accounting, banking, credit, insurance, securities, or financial planning. Add one concrete example of a budget, forecast, cash flow review, or pricing decision you handled, and keep your written answers sharp to show the English communication skill this project requires.

Finance Expert - Remote AI Evaluation Part-Time

Mercor keeps a standing pool of finance professionals who help grade and guide frontier AI models on financial reasoning. The work leans on judgment: you write problems from your own practice, attach the filings, assumptions, and constraints, then supply the reference answer a model gets measured against. You also review model output for accounting treatment, test valuation assumptions against sensitivity checks, and flag work that looks clean but would fail disclosure or audit review. Specialties include accounting, auditing, corporate finance, investment banking, asset management, wealth management, insurance, and actuarial science. Rates sit between $60 and $180 an hour, set per project by scope and depth.
