Overview
As a Financial Controller, you will own the full accounting cycle, from month-end close to statutory compliance, for a deep-tech aerospace manufacturer. The role centers on Ind AS and Indian GAAP reporting, with hands-on work in Tally for inventory reconciliation across raw materials, work-in-progress, finished goods, and spare parts. You will also build financial models, standard costing frameworks, and investor reporting packages to support fundraising. This position reports to the founders and requires a blend of manufacturing cost accounting and FP&A leadership.
What You'll Do10
- 1Direct month-end and year-end closing, general ledger upkeep, and internal controls that align with Ind AS and Indian GAAP.
- 2Conduct monthly physical inventory counts and reconcile actual stock against Tally balances for RM, WIP, FG, and spare parts.
- 3Apply revenue and purchase cut-off rules that match factory dispatches, customer sign-offs, and logistics costs.
- 4Handle accruals, prepayments, ledger scrubbing, and set provisions for doubtful debts and warranty reserves.
- 5Produce monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and deliver variance analysis to founders.
- 6Secure full compliance with GST, TDS, corporate tax, transfer pricing, ROC filings, and labor laws (PF, ESI, PT).
- 7Serve as the main contact for statutory, tax, and internal audits, plus FEMA and customs compliance on imports and exports.
- 8Create financial models, annual budgets, rolling cash forecasts, and unit-economic analyses.
- 9Build standard costing frameworks, audit bills of materials, and track CapEx for manufacturing operations.
- 10Assemble financial data rooms, update cap tables, and prepare investor reporting packages for fundraising rounds.
Requirements6
- 1Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance with 6-10 years of progressive finance experience.
- 2At least 3 years leading FP&A activities.
- 3Background in manufacturing, D2C hardware, or industrial startups in India.
- 4Deep knowledge of Ind AS, Indian tax structure (GST/TDS), and manufacturing cost accounting.
- 5Proficiency in Tally, SAP, or NetSuite and advanced Excel/PowerBI financial modeling.
- 6Agile, hands-on approach to setting up processes from scratch in a high-growth environment.
Who Should Apply
Candidates with a CA or MBA in Finance and 6-10 years of finance experience, including at least 3 years in FP&A, will fit well. A background in manufacturing, D2C hardware, or industrial startups in India is required. The role suits someone who has worked with Ind AS, GST/TDS, and manufacturing cost accounting, and who is comfortable using Tally, SAP, or NetSuite along with advanced Excel/PowerBI. Applicants without hands-on experience in these areas or without a manufacturing or hardware startup background may score low on fit.
