Financial Advisor Expert - Remote Contract
Listing checked September 22, 2026 · pay as published by AfterQuery
Overview
AfterQuery hires licensed financial advisors to build questions and case studies that test how well AI models handle personal financial planning. The subject matter covers retirement planning, investment allocation, tax strategy, estate planning, risk management and regulatory compliance. You pick your hours across a 10 hour week and write from wherever you live. What you produce feeds model training, so your scoring notes shape how these systems learn to apply fiduciary standards.
What You'll Do8
- 1Write financial planning questions and full case studies that stretch AI models on retirement projections, portfolio construction, tax moves, estate plans and risk exposure.
- 2Cover adjacent ground such as client conversations, fiduciary duties and regulatory requirements when a scenario requires it.
- 3Score model answers against fiduciary standards and accepted planning practice, then explain the reasoning behind each rating.
- 4Flag errors where a model misreads a client profile, skips a tax rule or recommends something unsuitable for the situation.
- 5Work with financial and technical teammates to calibrate how hard each question should be.
- 6Adjust wording and difficulty so the content stays demanding without losing its teaching value.
- 7Record the reasoning behind each judgment so engineers can trace how a decision was reached.
- 8Sort questions into difficulty tiers and note which planning concepts each one exercises.
Requirements8
- 1Active securities registration through Series 7, Series 65, Series 66 or an equivalent license.
- 2A track record as a financial advisor or wealth management professional with command of investment products and planning methods.
- 3Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business or a related discipline.
- 4Sharp analytical skills and clean writing, with close attention to detail across long documents.
- 5Several years in advisory work with clients across varied financial situations.
- 6CFP, CFA or another relevant professional designation.
- 7Published commentary, thought leadership or work on fintech products.
- 8Comfort with AI or technology-driven advisory tools.
Who Should Apply
The right person holds an active Series 7, 65 or 66 license and has spent years guiding clients through retirement, tax and estate decisions. Strong writing matters here. You will explain why a model's answer falls short, so reviewers who can separate a defensible recommendation from a flawed one stand out. Prior work with CFP or CFA credentials, published commentary or fintech products gives you an edge. Candidates who lack an active license seldom clear screening, and those who rely on broad planning language instead of naming specific products, rules or client scenarios score low on content quality.
Salary Insight
$75 to $120 per hour, paid on a contract basis for roughly 10 hours each week. That band sits above what most salaried advisory roles pay hourly, which reflects the demand for licensed advisors who can also judge written work. Placement inside the range tends to track years of advisory experience and any CFP or CFA designation you hold.
