Overview
A leading AI lab is seeking experienced computer vision practitioners to join their GenAI team on a part-time, remote basis. In this role, you'll design real-world vision challenges, generate reference solutions, and evaluate frontier models to identify capability gaps. Your expertise will directly shape the next generation of AI systems.
What You'll Do5
- 1Author challenging, practical computer vision problems—such as object detection, segmentation, multimodal reasoning, or generation—that target specific weaknesses in current AI models.
- 2Build out problems into executable tests within an agentic development environment, using Python to prepare all necessary components and golden solutions.
- 3Assess the target model's performance on your tasks, analyzing outputs to spot reasoning flaws and capability gaps.
- 4Identify tasks where the model fails and classify the nature of each failure to guide improvement efforts.
- 5Collaborate with other subject-matter experts to maintain consistency and accuracy across evaluations.
Requirements6
- 1Deep, hands-on experience in computer vision from applied industry work, academic research, or a graduate/PhD background in the field.
- 2Working proficiency in Python—applied in real projects, not just theoretical familiarity.
- 3Strong command of modern CV methods, including deep learning architectures, evaluation techniques, and tools like PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- 4Ability to commit reliably to approximately 20 hours per week in a remote, self-directed setup.
- 5Prior experience in AI training, model evaluation, or data annotation is strongly preferred.
- 6Excellent written communication and the discipline to manage your own time independently.
