Biostatistics Expert
Listing checked October 7, 2026 · pay as published by AfterQuery
Overview
AfterQuery seeks biostatisticians, pharmacometricians, and statistical geneticists with at least three years of full-time statistical work to build problems for frontier AI labs. You will write realistic trial design, survival analysis, dose response, or genetic study problems from your own practice, then solve each one to a reference answer that captures the reasoning at every step. The work runs async with no fixed hours, a 10-hour weekly minimum, and no maximum, so you can scale up or down from week to week. Pay arrives each week through Stripe on an independent contractor basis, and the role includes no screen recording, keystroke monitoring, or idle timers. Clinicians and wet lab scientists without a statistical role do not fit this need.
What You'll Do4
- 1Author realistic biostatistics problems drawn from your professional work, covering trial design, survival analysis, dose response, or genetic studies.
- 2Work each problem through to a reference answer, showing the statistical reasoning behind every step.
- 3Catch methodological mistakes that look reasonable to others but stand out to a practitioner.
- 4Prepare problems and reference answers that frontier AI labs use to test model judgment.
Requirements7
- 1Master's or PhD in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, statistical genetics, or pharmacometrics.
- 2Three or more years in a full-time statistical role. Internships and academic work do not count.
- 3Direct experience with clinical, epidemiological, or genetic data.
- 4Comfort using R, SAS, or Python for statistical analysis.
- 5Strong written English and ability to explain an analysis in plain terms.
- 6Capacity to commit at least 10 hours per week.
- 7Background designing trials, running survival or mixed models, building PK/PD models, or analyzing genetic association studies.
Who Should Apply
The role suits statisticians who hold a Master's or PhD in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, statistical genetics, or pharmacometrics and have spent at least three years in a full-time statistical job. You should have handled clinical, epidemiological, or genetic data and feel at home in R, SAS, or Python. Strong written English matters because you need to make an analysis understandable to readers who will test AI models against your answers. Applicants whose experience comes from internships or coursework without full-time statistical work tend to score low, as do clinicians or wet lab scientists who lack a statistics role. A common rejection reason is submitting problems that lack a rigorous reference answer or that miss subtle methodological flaws.
Salary Insight
The listing sets pay at $115.00/hr for independent contractor work. That rate reflects the advanced statistical degree and three-plus years of full-time experience the role requires. Weekly payments go through Stripe, and you decide how many hours to take on above the 10-hour weekly minimum.

Application Tip
Lead with a problem you authored in trial design, survival analysis, dose response, or genetic studies, then show the reference answer and the reasoning that connects each step. Name the software you used, such as R, SAS, or Python, and state your total years in a full-time statistical role so the review team sees the three-plus-year threshold met.

AfterQuery
VerifiedStatistician & Experimentation Expert
AfterQuery supplies frontier AI labs with expert evaluation data that tests how models handle real statistical work. As a contract statistician, you create study scenarios that cover design, analysis, and interpretation, then write reference answers that explain each modeling choice. You also review model output for methodological soundness and call out analyses that look rigorous but reach unsupported conclusions. The work centers on causal inference, A/B testing, and experimental design, with R or Python as your analysis tools. Hours are async and you set your own schedule above a 10-hour minimum.

AfterQuery
VerifiedData Scientist Expert
AfterQuery assembles the expert evaluation data that frontier AI labs rely on to test and sharpen their models. This contract role puts practicing data scientists to work authoring the analysis problems those evaluations run on, pulled straight from your own daily work in experiments, metrics, forecasting and predictive modeling. You write each problem, solve it end to end with a reference answer, and flag the mistakes that pass a quick look but fail under a practitioner's eye. Work is fully remote and async: no fixed hours, and you decide how much or how little you take on each week.

Micro1
VerifiedMedical & Biostatistics Chart Analyst
micro1 is hiring Subject Matter Experts in medicine and biostatistics to support a client project that trains next-generation AI systems. You will interpret Kaplan-Meier curves, forest plots, ROC curves, and hazard-ratio plots, then turn those visuals into multi-step analytical questions with precise answers. Your clinical and statistical reasoning will directly shape how models learn to read complex data. No AI background is needed. What matters is your ability to explain calculations, confidence intervals, and p-values in clear written English.

Micro1
VerifiedBiostatistician for AI‑assisted Clinical Research Remote
A remote contractor role for a Biostatistician supporting an AI-assisted clinical research project at micro1. You will generate and validate statistical outputs from clinical datasets, review TFLs, and judge analysis quality against the SAP. The work informs how AI models learn from real-world data, with emphasis on accuracy and clear documentation. Expect collaboration with a cross‑disciplinary team and a strong focus on regulatory‑grade standards. CDISC SDTM/ADaM and survival analysis are central to the tasks performed.

Handshake AI
VerifiedStatistician - Remote AI Research Fellowship
Handshake AI hires statisticians and biostatisticians to shape how AI models handle advanced quantitative reasoning. The work is part-time, remote, and project-based, so you can fit it around a current research or teaching role. You will write expert-level questions drawn from applied statistical methods such as Bayesian inference, causal inference, and longitudinal analysis, then judge model answers for accuracy and methodological soundness. Contributors set their own hours and complete tasks with no minimum hour requirement. Feedback you write helps improve how AI systems explain and apply statistical concepts.

AfterQuery
VerifiedProduct Analytics and Experimentation Expert
AfterQuery brings on data scientists and product analysts to write the product analytics problems that frontier AI labs use to test model judgment. You draw material from your own work on experiments, metric definitions, retention and growth, then carry each problem through to a reference answer with the reasoning spelled out at every step. The schedule runs async with a floor of 10 hours a week and no ceiling, so commitment shifts week to week. Pay arrives weekly through Stripe, and nothing records your screen, keystrokes or idle time.
