Overview

This role is all about designing and managing cloud infrastructure on AWS while helping train next-generation AI systems. You'll apply your deep AWS expertise to ensure scalable, reliable, and secure environments — no prior AI experience required, just your domain knowledge. As a remote contractor, you'll work with core services like EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, and VPC, automate with Terraform or CloudFormation, and keep everything running smoothly via CloudWatch and scripting in Bash and Python.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure using EC2, S3, RDS, and other key services.
  • 2Configure and maintain identity and access management ( IAM ) and network setups like VPC to enforce security and isolation.
  • 3Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • 4Monitor system health and performance with AWS CloudWatch and resolve issues proactively.
  • 5Write and maintain scripts in Bash and Python to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
  • 6Enforce cloud security best practices and ensure compliance across all deployments.
  • 7Collaborate with engineering and product teams to deliver scalable, highly available cloud solutions.

Requirements7

  • 1Solid hands-on experience with core AWS services: EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, RDS, and CloudWatch.
  • 2Strong foundation in Linux administration and shell scripting with Bash.
  • 3Proficiency in Python for automation and tooling.
  • 4Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (subnetting, routing, firewalls) and cloud security practices.
  • 5Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • 6Skilled in troubleshooting, monitoring, and optimizing AWS environments for performance and cost.
  • 7Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote, contractor setting.

Who Should Apply

If you're an AWS engineer who thrives on building and automating cloud infrastructure, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to see your work directly improve how AI systems learn and reason — this is for you. You're comfortable working remotely, taking ownership of infrastructure decisions, and have a bias for clean, secure, automated setups. No AI background needed; your AWS chops are what matter.
