Overview
This role is with a prominent AI research organization, but you won't be producing accounting work yourself. Instead, you’ll act as an evaluator: defining what top-tier accounting looks like and scoring outputs from both humans and AI against those standards. It’s a contract position paying $130–$160/hour, fully remote, that blends deep accounting expertise with rigorous, analytical judgment.
What You'll Do4
- 1Create clear, detailed grading rubrics for common accounting deliverables like reconciliations, close packages, financial statements, and technical memos.
- 2Review and score work samples (both AI-generated and human-produced) against those rubrics, providing thorough written explanations for each score.
- 3Ensure your evaluations are consistent, reproducible, and grounded in GAAP principles so that results hold up to scrutiny.
- 4Incorporate feedback from senior reviewers and refine your approach quickly to maintain quality and alignment with project goals.
Requirements6
- 1At least 5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally in audit, assurance, or advisory at a Big Four or equivalent firm, or in senior roles at a large public company.
- 2CPA or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- 3Deep hands-on familiarity with US GAAP, month-end close processes, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and audit-ready workpapers.
- 4Exceptional written communication skills — you must be able to clearly articulate why a piece of work meets or fails professional standards.
- 5Meticulous attention to detail and comfort with having your judgment reviewed and calibrated against peers.
- 6Prior experience in AI training, evaluation, or human-data projects is a strong plus.
