Overview
This remote contractor role with micro1 puts your professional eye for image-making to work. You will assess photo and video submissions against creative briefs, checking technical execution and fitness for the intended audience. The position calls for hands-on experience with Lightroom, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, or Premiere and a habit of explaining visual choices in plain English. Pay runs from $55 to $100 per hour, and the work happens entirely online.
What You'll Do5
- Compare competing photos or video clips and decide which one serves a given brief and audience better.
- Inspect exposure, focus, color balance, framing, lens selection, and camera movement for quality.
- Identify technical defects that could surface later, such as noise, flicker, blown highlights, or mismatched frame rates and formats.
- Confirm that each piece of work aligns with the brief and its intended output, whether print, web, social, broadcast, or film.
- Write a concise rationale for every judgment so another reviewer can trace your logic.
Requirements5
- Professional background as a photographer, cinematographer, director of photography, camera operator, or video producer.
- Experience handling real client work from brief through shoot days, post-production, and final delivery.
- Regular use of professional cameras and editing or grading software like Lightroom, Photoshop, DaVinci Resolve, or Premiere.
- Ability to articulate why one shot succeeds and another falls short.
- Clear written English.
Who Should Apply
Working photographers, cinematographers, DPs, camera operators, and video producers who have delivered paid projects and can explain visual decisions in writing. If you routinely judge light, framing, and delivery formats, this fits.
