Photographer - Video Annotation Contractor
Overview
micro1 is looking for photographers to join a video annotation project for a customer. You will review footage of robotic arms doing different tasks and tag it using detailed grading rules. Your photography background helps you judge image clarity, composition, and relevance in each clip. No AI experience is needed. This is a remote contractor role open to people in Northern America, Latin America, Europe, the UK, and Oceania.
What You'll Do7
- 1Watch video sessions of robotic arms completing various tasks and note what happens in each one.
- 2Apply video annotation and data labeling methods to tag and sort footage based on the project's grading guidelines.
- 3Use photography principles to assess visual quality, including clarity, framing, and how well the content matches the task.
- 4Identify and record small visual differences, errors, or problems in how the robot carries out its work.
- 5Keep to the same project rules and grading standards across every session you handle so the data stays consistent.
- 6Send in annotations and written notes through the project's tools and workflows.
- 7Work with trainers and coordinators in an asynchronous setup when you need to clarify guidelines or raise annotation quality.
Requirements7
- 1Professional experience in photography with a strong sense of composition and technical image review.
- 2Sharp attention to detail and the ability to catch subtle visual cues in moving footage.
- 3Proven ability to follow complex guidelines and repeat the same process without losing accuracy.
- 4Comfort working on your own and managing your output in a remote, asynchronous project.
- 5Skills in video annotation and data labeling.
- 6Ability to spot visual details in footage and apply photography knowledge to judging images.
- 7Consistent rule-following so every session is graded the same way.
Who Should Apply
This role fits photographers who enjoy close visual analysis and can stick to a detailed grading system for hours. You should be at ease reviewing footage of robotic arms and noting small differences that others might miss. The project is less suited to people who prefer creative freedom over strict guidelines or who dislike repetitive tagging work. Candidates often get rejected when they show no photography background or cannot demonstrate consistent rule-following in past work. Another common reason for low fit is a lack of comfort with remote, asynchronous communication.
Salary Insight
The pay range is $21 to $35 per hour. The final rate depends on your experience and the project scope, and it will be discussed during the hiring process.
