IT Technician
Overview
We're looking for an IT Support Technician to help employees across clinical and administrative teams with their daily technology needs. This role is key to keeping internal systems, user access, and healthcare software running smoothly in a privacy-conscious, HIPAA-compliant environment. The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, and technically skilled, comfortable supporting users with varying levels of computer experience.
What You'll Do9
- 1Serve as the first point of contact for technical issues from clinical and office staff, handling requests via phone, email, and a ticketing system.
- 2Diagnose and resolve common problems like login errors, password resets, account access, email, VPN, connectivity issues, software glitches, and basic hardware malfunctions.
- 3Guide users in navigating healthcare applications, including EMR/EHR platforms and other internal tools.
- 4Follow established troubleshooting guides and IT procedures to ensure consistent, reliable support.
- 5Log every support interaction, including steps taken and resolutions, into the ticketing system for documentation and escalation tracking.
- 6Recognize when issues are beyond initial scope and escalate them to senior IT staff or specialized support teams.
- 7Maintain strict confidentiality of patient, employee, and company data in line with HIPAA and internal security policies.
- 8Assist with new user setup, access modifications, and basic application support as needed.
- 9Provide extra support during system updates, high-volume periods, or special projects.
Requirements6
- 1A high school diploma or GED is required; current HIPAA training or certification is mandatory.
- 2Prior experience in help desk, desktop support, or a similar technical support role is preferred.
- 3Solid working knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office, email systems, user account management, password resets, VPN access, and common workplace applications.
- 4Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional when assisting users under pressure.
- 5Excellent attention to detail for clear documentation of support activities.
- 6Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
