Generation Asset Analyst (Remote Contract)
Listing checked September 18, 2026 · pay as published by Handshake AI
Overview
Handshake AI hires energy industry professionals for remote, project-based work that supports AI research. You bring your experience in industrial operations, plant performance, or asset management to evaluate AI-generated content and offer feedback on operations workflows and performance engineering practices. The role relies on the tools you already use, like AVEVA PI, WinCC, or Bloomberg Terminal, to build training data and check AI responses for accuracy. You do not need AI experience, and you set your own schedule, with most contributors logging 5 to 20 hours a week during active projects.
What You'll Do6
- 1Evaluate AI-generated content for accuracy and relevance using your energy industry expertise.
- 2Create expert-level training data that reflects real operations workflows and performance engineering practices.
- 3Provide detailed feedback to help AI models better understand industrial operations and asset management.
- 4Apply hands-on knowledge of tools like AVEVA PI, WinCC, or Power BI to assess AI outputs.
- 5Work independently and on an asynchronous schedule with AI research teams.
- 6Review AI responses for technical correctness in plant performance or reliability engineering contexts.
Requirements5
- 12+ years of professional experience in industrial operations, plant performance, or energy asset management.
- 2Background in roles such as Plant Performance Engineer, Reliability Engineer, SCADA Engineer, Drilling/Production Engineer, or Generation Asset Analyst.
- 3Hands-on experience with at least one of these tools: AVEVA PI, WinCC, Oracle MDM, Power BI, or Bloomberg Terminal.
- 4Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- 5Ability to work independently and asynchronously with AI research teams.
Who Should Apply
Energy professionals with at least two years in industrial operations, plant performance, or asset management fit this role well. You should have hands-on experience with tools like AVEVA PI, WinCC, or Power BI, and you need to write with clarity and pay close attention to detail. The work suits people who can manage their own schedule and collaborate with AI researchers on an asynchronous basis. This role is less suitable for those without direct energy industry experience or those who prefer a structured, full-time office environment. Candidates who list only general engineering skills without naming specific tools or roles from the requirements often score low on fit.
