Frontend Engineer Specialist | $90-$140/hr Remote
Overview
A remote contractor role for a frontend engineer who excels at explaining complex frontend decisions in writing. You’ll apply deep knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and React to provide clear rationales, critique code samples, and draft technical docs that guide frontend work. The position emphasizes documentation, architectural reasoning, and real-world engineering insight to help train next‑generation AI systems.
What You'll Do6
- 1Analyze frontend decisions and document the reasoning behind chosen architectures and patterns in concise, clear language.
- 2Review code samples, component structures, and state management approaches, delivering actionable written feedback.
- 3Create high quality RFCs, ADRs, and design notes to steer frontend development work.
- 4Explain advanced frontend topics such as performance tuning, accessibility, and rendering strategies (SSR/CSR/SSG) through precise written outputs.
- 5Participate in code review simulations and technical discussions, turning insights into constructive commentary.
- 6Provide expert domain input that informs how frontend work feeds into AI model development in practical scenarios.
Requirements6
- 13+ years of professional frontend experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and modern HTML/CSS.
- 2Proven ability to author clear, technically rigorous documentation (RFCs, ADRs, or review feedback).
- 3Strong grasp of component architecture, state management, and frontend performance optimization.
- 4Experience with accessibility best practices and inclusive web design (a11y).
- 5Knowledge of server-side, client-side, and static site rendering approaches.
- 6Excellent written English communication skills for explaining complex topics to varied audiences.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate is a senior frontend engineer who can articulate technical rationale in writing and contribute high quality documentation. The role may not be suitable for someone lacking deep hands on frontend experience with React or someone who cannot produce clear RFCs or ADRs. Candidates who struggle to explain architectural choices or to translate complex ideas into structured notes may not fit. Common rejection factors include limited experience with state management patterns or weak awareness of accessibility and rendering strategies.
Salary Insight
Pay range is $90 - $140/hr; compensation details are discussed later with the candidate.
