Overview

micro1 seeks Digital Artists to evaluate and improve AI-generated images. You will upload your own original digital images or photographs, then compare them side-by-side with AI outputs, documenting every visible difference. The work focuses on spotting issues in anatomy, color, lighting, perspective, texture, and fine detail, and on identifying common AI artifacts like warped anatomy or inconsistent shadows. No prior AI experience is needed; your visual analysis and critique skills are what count. This is a remote contractor role open to US-based artists.

What You'll Do7

  • Upload original digital images or photographs that meet project specifications.
  • Compare your artwork with AI-generated versions side-by-side and record all visible differences.
  • Point out problems with anatomy, color, lighting, perspective, texture, and fine detail.
  • Identify and describe typical AI artifacts such as warped anatomy, smeared textures, inconsistent shadows, and irregular reflections or text.
  • Write concise, precise feedback using standard visual terminology and reference specific image locations.
  • Deliver thorough, methodical reviews that prioritize accuracy and visual detail over speed.
  • Work with project coordinators and other contributors to align image assessments and feedback.

Requirements7

  • Located in the United States with valid authorization to contract within the country.
  • At least 2 years of experience in digital art, retouching, compositing, 3D rendering, graphic design, color grading, or photography, supported by a portfolio of original works.
  • Proficiency with image editing and creation tools such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Procreate, Blender, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially descriptive and technical visual vocabulary.
  • Ability to detect subtle differences and accurately identify artifacts unique to AI-generated images.
  • Basic understanding of AI image generation processes and common failure points.
  • Experience in image evaluation, data annotation, or quality assurance in creative or technical projects is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications2

  • Familiarity with Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Firefly, or Flux.
  • Prior experience in image evaluation, data annotation, or quality assurance.

Who Should Apply

US-based digital artists, retouchers, photographers, or designers with at least 2 years of experience and a portfolio of original work. You should be comfortable using tools like Photoshop or Blender and able to describe visual flaws in precise, technical terms. A basic grasp of AI image generation helps, but it is not required.
