Overview

micro1 seeks Digital Artists to evaluate and improve AI-generated images. You will upload your own original digital art or photography, then compare it side-by-side with AI outputs, documenting every visible difference. Your critiques will help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn and reason. No AI experience is needed; your visual analysis and communication skills are what count. This is a remote contractor role open to US-based artists.

What You'll Do7

  • Upload original digital images or photographs that meet project specifications.
  • Compare your artwork with AI-generated versions side-by-side and note all visible deviations.
  • Identify and describe issues in anatomy, color, lighting, perspective, texture, and fine detail.
  • Spot common AI artifacts such as warped anatomy, smeared textures, inconsistent shadows, and irregular reflections or text.
  • Write concise, precise feedback using industry-standard terminology and point to specific image locations.
  • Deliver thorough, methodical reviews that prioritize accuracy and visual detail over speed.
  • Work with project coordinators and other contributors to align assessments and feedback.

Requirements7

  • Located in the United States with valid authorization to contract within the country.
  • At least 2 years of experience in digital art, retouching, compositing, 3D rendering, graphic design, color grading, or photography, backed by a portfolio of original works.
  • Proficiency in image editing and creation tools such as Photoshop, Lightroom, Procreate, Blender, or similar platforms.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on descriptive and technical visual vocabulary.
  • Proven ability to detect subtle differences and accurately identify artifacts unique to AI-generated images.
  • Basic understanding of AI image generation processes and typical failure points.
  • Experience in image evaluation, data annotation, or quality assurance in creative or technical projects is advantageous.

Preferred Qualifications2

  • Familiarity with Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, Firefly, or Flux.
  • Prior experience in image evaluation, data annotation, or quality assurance.

Who Should Apply

US-based digital artists, photographers, or retouchers with at least 2 years of hands-on experience and a portfolio of original work. You should be comfortable using tools like Photoshop or Blender and have a sharp eye for visual flaws. If you can explain image issues clearly and precisely, this role fits.
