Overview

This role is all about bringing your deep computational biology expertise to the frontier of AI development. You'll help train next-generation AI systems by evaluating and annotating their outputs in real-world biology applications. If you're passionate about shaping how AI understands genomics, transcriptomics, and systems biology, this is your chance to make a direct impact.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Use your domain knowledge to assess and benchmark AI model performance on computational biology tasks.
  • 2Critically review AI-generated outputs for accuracy and relevance in areas like genomics and transcriptomics.
  • 3Apply analytical reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses in biological workflows and suggest improvements.
  • 4Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to provide feedback that refines AI model behavior based on biological context.
  • 5Document your findings clearly, translating complex scientific observations into actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • 6Stay updated on emerging trends in computational biology and machine learning to inform your evaluations.

Requirements5

  • 1PhD in Biology, Bioinformatics, or a closely related field, or equivalent research experience.
  • 2Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, R, and Bash, along with experience using tools such as BWA, GATK, STAR, Salmon, Seurat, or Scanpy.
  • 3Deep understanding of genomics, transcriptomics, structural biology, or systems biology.
  • 4Strong scientific reasoning and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data and AI outputs.
  • 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.

Who Should Apply

We're looking for a computational biologist who thrives at the intersection of biology and AI. You have a PhD-level understanding of biological systems and hands-on experience with bioinformatics pipelines. You're excited about the challenge of teaching AI to reason like a scientist. You communicate clearly, work independently, and are eager to contribute to a distributed team shaping the future of AI.
