Overview

Remote biostatistics work at Mercor splits into two tracks: generating synthetic patient data and scoring AI agents. You will create raw patient-level records, convert them through SDTM and ADaM, and produce TLF outputs where every number reconciles to its source. On the authorship side, you will build prompts, golden outputs, and rubrics that measure an AI agent's ability to run the same end-to-end pipelines. The work draws on pre-market trial experience (Phases 1-3) and asks you to implement an existing SAP, not write one.

What You'll Do6

  • 1Generate synthetic patient-level records with realistic distributions and correlations.
  • 2Map simulated data into SDTM domains and then derive ADaM analysis-ready datasets.
  • 3Produce TLF outputs (tables, listings, figures) and verify that each one traces back to the original source data.
  • 4Run end-to-end statistical analysis pipelines, including data merging, validation, and output generation.
  • 5Design task prompts, golden outputs, and grading rubrics that quantify how well an AI agent reproduces biostatistics workflows.
  • 6Translate an existing SAP into concrete data transformations and output specifications without modifying the SAP itself.

Requirements7

  • 1Located in the United States, Canada, or France.
  • 2At least five years of biostatistics experience, with ten to twenty-five years strongly preferred.
  • 3Master's degree in biostatistics or statistics required; PhD preferred.
  • 4Available for 20 to 25 hours per week minimum, with 30 or more hours favored.
  • 5Hands-on expertise across SDTM, ADaM, and TLF layers of pre-market (Phases 1-3) clinical trials.
  • 6Ability to implement an existing SAP into data transformations and outputs rather than authoring a new SAP.
  • 7Comfortable producing synthetic patient data that is clinically realistic, not contrived.

Who Should Apply

The right candidate has built trial datasets from raw patient records through SDTM, ADaM, and TLF in Phases 1-3, and can name the studies where they did it. They are comfortable generating synthetic data and enjoy designing evaluation tasks for AI agents. They also have at least 20 hours a week to dedicate to this contract. Biostatisticians who focus on early exploratory analysis or want to author SAPs will find this a poor fit, because the SAP is provided and the work is execution. Applications get rejected when the candidate's experience covers only one of the data layers or when they cannot commit to the minimum hours or location.

Salary Insight

Pay is $120 to $170 per hour, matching what senior biostatisticians with deep trial data expertise can command on the consulting market. At the expected 20 to 25 hours a week, weekly earnings would range from $2,400 to $4,250, but the final rate depends on your specific SDTM, ADaM, and TLF experience.

Application Tip

Highlight one pre-market trial where you converted an existing SAP into SDTM and ADaM outputs and quantify the scale, such as number of patients or tables. Also show a concrete example of synthetic data you created, and explain how you made it clinically realistic.
