Backend Security Engineer – Remote Contract

What You'll Do8

• Create challenging, real-world coding problems that test AI's ability to implement features and fix bugs.
• Write deterministic verifiers that pass reasonable solutions and fail everything else.
• Apply your backend knowledge in Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, or C++ to design tasks.
• Review and refine task quality to ensure they meet project specifications.
• Submit a minimum number of completed tasks each week.
• Complete onboarding and start your first tasks within 24-48 hours of selection.
• Participate in an AI interview and technical assessment without outside help.
• Use your security background to inform secure coding practices in the tasks you create.

Requirements9

• Strong backend development experience in at least one of: Java, Node.js, Go, Rust, TypeScript, Python, C++, or similar.
• Proven track record building scalable services and APIs.
• Comfort with debugging, performance tuning, and automated testing.
• Solid instincts for code review.
• Cybersecurity or SecOps background is a big plus: secure coding, appsec, pentesting, vulnerability assessment, OWASP/CWE, or security-focused reviews.
• Experience identifying and resolving software bugs and system bottlenecks.
• Familiarity with codebase refactoring and implementing complex features in large-scale applications.
• Strong grasp of algorithms, data structures, and core computer science concepts.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
