Video Content Creator (US based)
Overview
Turing, a research accelerator for frontier AI labs, is hiring freelance video creators to produce short walk-and-talk videos that train AI to describe the world in a human way. You will film 1 to 5 minute clips in public spaces such as parks, landmarks, markets, or cultural spots, speaking to the camera as if guiding a viewer in person. The assignment is fully remote from the United States, requires a minimum of 10 hours per week, and runs for 3 months. You will use your own smartphone or camera to capture steady footage with clear audio and submit each video with accurate location details.
What You'll Do7
- 1Film 1 to 5 minute walk-and-talk videos at public locations in your city, such as parks, landmarks, markets, or cultural spots.
- 2Deliver friendly, conversational commentary on camera, as if you are guiding a viewer through the location in person.
- 3Capture smooth, stable footage with your smartphone or camera and ensure audio is clear and easy to hear.
- 4Select safe, public locations where filming is permitted by law, and check that you have the right to record.
- 5Follow the provided creative guidelines to give each video a clear intro, body, and conclusion.
- 6Send each finished video with the precise location details, including the name and address or coordinates.
- 7Follow privacy and safety best practices while filming in public areas.
Requirements7
- 1Speak English comfortably on camera and communicate with clear pronunciation and tone.
- 2Bring a creative, personable, and confident presence to video recordings.
- 3Own a smartphone or recording device that produces good video and audio quality.
- 4Have a reliable internet connection for uploading videos.
- 5Follow task guidelines and deliver videos on schedule.
- 6A background in vlogging, photography, tourism, or performing arts is a plus.
- 7Previous experience creating videos for YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram Reels is preferred.
Who Should Apply
The ideal candidate is a personable storyteller who enjoys exploring public places and can speak to a camera with ease. This role suits creators who are comfortable filming in busy outdoor settings and can follow a structured format without supervision. It is less suitable for shy or camera-shy individuals, or for those who live in Texas, Illinois, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, or Vermont, since these states are excluded. Common reasons candidates score low on fit include submitting shaky footage or unclear audio, failing to follow the required intro-body-conclusion structure, or not being able to commit the minimum 10 hours per week.

Application Tip
Record a 1-minute practice walk-and-talk video in a local public space, ensure the audio is crisp and the shot is steady, and include a link to it when you apply. This demonstrates your on-camera presence, ability to follow a narrative structure, and the quality of your smartphone recording setup.
