Overview
This remote contractor role with micro1 puts your offensive cybersecurity expertise to work in a unique way: you'll help train next-generation AI systems by designing evaluation frameworks and attack simulations. No prior AI experience is required—your hands-on knowledge of exploit chains, cloud/appsec, and social engineering is what makes you the ideal candidate. You'll shape how models learn about real-world threats while operating under strict ethical boundaries.
What You'll Do7
- 1Build comprehensive taxonomies that map cyber-capability tasks to modern attack stages, reflecting today's threat landscape.
- 2Create and validate evaluation frameworks for offensive security, focusing on realistic scenarios involving exploit development, malware, and social engineering.
- 3Design safe proxy tasks that replicate advanced attack vectors while maintaining clear ethical and safety controls.
- 4Develop scoring rubrics to measure attack sophistication, coverage, and impact across multiple security domains.
- 5Review and improve existing red team benchmarks to keep pace with evolving risks and industry best practices.
- 6Document methodologies and technical findings in clear language for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- 7Collaborate asynchronously with project teams to refine frameworks and incorporate feedback into deliverable outputs.
Requirements7
- 1At least 5 years of hands-on experience in offensive security, red teaming, exploit development, or vulnerability research (8–20 years preferred for senior contributors).
- 2Proven background as a principal security engineer, exploit developer, cloud red-team lead, malware reverse-engineer, or security researcher specializing in attack chains or social engineering.
- 3Deep expertise in cyber attack methodologies, exploit chains, and cloud/application security assessments.
- 4Strong foundation in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and/or social engineering tactics and defenses.
- 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
- 6Advanced degree, relevant professional security certifications, or equivalent operational experience is highly valued.
- 7Experience building benchmarking or evaluation frameworks in cybersecurity is a plus.
