Overview
Outlier pairs with AI labs that need systems to read human speech, emotion, and intent with more accuracy. On this project, native Korean speakers record short audio and work through text tasks that teach those systems how people actually sound. Expect scripted voice work in different tones and moods, plus listening passes where you note what you hear in a clip. A quiet recording space and steady internet carry more weight here than a performance résumé, though expressive speakers with stage, podcast, or call center backgrounds fit right in.
What You'll Do6
- Record brief audio samples in Korean using a clear, natural delivery
- Perform short scripts and shift tone, emotion, or speaking style as directed
- Review audio and video clips, then write down the details you observe
- Speak on camera when a task calls for it
- Supply text notes that help AI models link speech patterns to meaning
- Follow project instructions for each batch of tasks and keep recordings clean
Requirements6
- Native-level Korean fluency
- Vocal clarity with audible emotional range and expression
- Comfort appearing and speaking on camera
- Access to a quiet room free of background noise for recording
- Dependable internet service
- Residence outside the restricted countries and regions listed by the company
Preferred Qualifications4
- Theater, improv, acting, or voiceover background
- Classical vocal training or public speaking experience
- Professional microphone or a home recording setup
- Prior work recording audio or video content
Who Should Apply
Native Korean speakers who sound comfortable and expressive behind a microphone. Actors, podcasters, streamers, call center staff, and presenters all bring the right instincts, and outgoing speakers with no formal performance training should apply too.
Salary Insight
Core project work pays up to $31 USD per hour. Outlier runs Missions, its version of surge pricing, so extra incentive work can add to that figure, while assessments, onboarding, and some non-core tasks may pay a different rate based on your location, skills review, and project demand.
