Overview
micro1 seeks Federal Grants Management Specialists to support a customer project that calls for deep knowledge of federal grants and compliance. Your expertise will help train next-generation AI systems, shaping how models learn and reason from real-world input. The role is remote within the US, and you will work as a contractor. You will draft funding announcements, score applications, and evaluate AI outputs for regulatory accuracy.
What You'll Do6
- Write federal funding announcements and Notices of Funding Opportunity (NOFOs), covering program goals, eligibility, application steps, and evaluation criteria.
- Score grant applications by checking eligibility, project merit, budget justifications, and fit with funding requirements.
- Produce formal monitoring findings that cite compliance gaps, supporting evidence, relevant regulations, and suggested corrective actions.
- Annotate grant applications, award documents, budgets, and compliance reports to create high-quality AI training materials.
- Assess AI-generated grants management outputs for regulatory accuracy, procedural correctness, and alignment with federal rules, including 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance).
- Build realistic grant management scenarios, reference answers, and evaluations that span pre-award, award, and post-award phases.
Requirements6
- Professional experience in federal grants management, such as GS-1109 roles or equivalent grant administration in federal, state, or local government.
- Hands-on work drafting funding notices, reviewing and scoring applications, and documenting monitoring or audit findings.
- Solid knowledge of federal grants processes, compliance standards, and reporting requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity and technical accuracy.
- Commitment to customer service and effective collaboration in a remote setting.
- Attention to detail and ability to work as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications1
- Prior experience with AI training, model evaluation, or content review.
Who Should Apply
This role suits grants professionals with hands-on federal experience, especially former GS-1109 specialists or equivalent government grant administrators. You should be comfortable drafting NOFOs, scoring applications, and writing monitoring findings with precision. If you also have AI training or content review experience, that is a plus.
