- 1PhD in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field, either completed or currently in progress.
- 2Native or near-native command of Spanish, along with business-level written English.

- 4Well-developed judgment about scientific safety and the responsible use of information that could be misused.
- 5Preference given to candidates located in Spain or Western Europe, but remote applicants elsewhere are also welcome.

- 7Demonstrated depth in a narrow subfield such as organic synthesis, molecular biology, virology, or genetics.
