Overview
This role is for a Sr. Infrastructure Security Engineer at micro1, an AI-native company building human data infrastructure for advanced AI systems. The engineer will design and evolve security foundations across multi-cloud environments, focusing on automated guardrails, zero trust architectures, and detection-as-code. The goal is to enable rapid product iteration safely, not just reduce risk.
What You'll Do7
- 1Architect security systems across AWS, GCP, and Azure that scale with rapid product iteration.
- 2Build automated guardrails and self-healing infrastructure to eliminate entire classes of vulnerabilities.
- 3Design and implement Zero Trust primitives—identity, access, and policy as code—from first principles.
- 4Develop Detection-as-Code pipelines, treating detection logic like production systems (versioned, tested, deployable).
- 5Explore and deploy AI-native approaches to threat modeling, anomaly detection, and incident response.
- 6Partner closely with engineering and research teams to embed security into the development lifecycle.
- 7Continuously rethink assumptions and evolve security posture as new threats and paradigms emerge.
Requirements6
- 1Deep experience securing distributed, multi-cloud systems (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- 2Strong programming ability (Python, Go, Rust, or similar) with a bias toward automation and systems thinking.
- 3Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc.) and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
- 4Strong understanding of identity systems, least privilege, and Zero Trust architectures.
- 5Familiarity with modern detection ecosystems (e.g., Sigma, Panther, GuardDuty, SCC) and signal quality challenges.
- 6A mindset that treats security as an engineering and systems problem—not compliance.

Salary Insight
The national pay range for this full-time position is base salary of $180,000 – $200,000 USD. All employees are eligible for equity compensation and may receive performance-based bonuses.
