What You'll Do9

• 1Create high-fidelity illustrations, diagrams, and visual assets for Science and Math educational content, ensuring subject accuracy and brand consistency.
• 2Design and develop interactive micro-experiences and simulations using AI/LLM tools, generative image models, and prompt-driven workflows.
• 3Collaborate closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex concepts into clear, accurate, and engaging visuals.
• 4Leverage AI tools (generative image models, LLM-assisted design workflows) to accelerate production, explore creative directions, and enhance educational content expressiveness.
• 5Maintain and evolve the CK-12 visual style guide to ensure consistency across illustrations, interactives, and content videos.
• 6Produce and edit short-form content videos using Adobe Premiere or equivalent tools to support learning modules.
• 7Iterate rapidly on feedback from internal stakeholders while maintaining quality and meeting tight turnaround timelines.
• 8Stay current with emerging AI-powered design tools, generative technologies, and interactive content trends, actively introducing new approaches.
• 9Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing effectively across different content domains and deadlines.

Requirements7

• 14+ years of experience as an Art/Digital Illustrator with a strong focus on concept-driven and interactive visuals.
• 2Hands-on experience using AI tools within the creative workflow for generating, refining, or accelerating work, demonstrated through real projects.
• 3Experience creating content-driven interactive illustrations that translate complex concepts into clear, accurate visuals, preferably in science, math, or similar structured domains.
• 4Strong illustration fundamentals including composition, human anatomy, perspective, proportions, and the ability to produce instructionally effective artwork.
• 5Proficiency across a broad set of design and creative tools beyond Adobe Suite, including Procreate, Figma, or equivalent, working fluidly across vector, raster, and digital illustration environments.
• 6Ability to build or contribute to interactive experiences or educational interactives using a combination of AI tools, integrating AI-generated content into functional outputs.
• 7Portfolio showcasing 2+ interactive illustration projects with a clear focus on structured or instructional visuals, including AI-assisted work demonstrating workflow from generation to final refinement, accuracy, consistency, and problem-solving approach.
