Data Scientist (Product Company, Mumbai)

Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist to partner with product teams and identify high-leverage machine learning opportunities that drive key business metrics. This role involves building and deploying models for personalization, revenue optimization, user discovery, fraud detection, and propensity scoring, using large structured and unstructured datasets.

• 1Partner with Product to identify high-leverage ML opportunities tied to business metrics.
• 2Wrangle large structured and unstructured datasets and build reliable features and data contracts.
• 3Build and ship models to enhance customer experiences and personalization.
• 4Boost revenue via pricing and discount optimization.
• 5Power user-to-user discovery and ranking for matchmaking at scale.
• 6Detect and block fraud and risk in real time.
• 7Score conversion, churn, and acceptance propensity for targeted actions.
• 8Collaborate with Engineering to productionize models via APIs, CI/CD, and Docker on AWS.
• 9Design and run A/B tests with guardrails.
• 10Build monitoring for model and data drift and business KPIs.

Requirements6

• 13+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist or Machine Learning Engineer building ML models.
• 2Strong expertise in Python with ability to implement classical ML algorithms (linear regression, logistic regression, decision trees, gradient boosting, etc.).
• 3Practical experience with neural network and deep learning models (TensorFlow or PyTorch preferred).
• 4Hands-on experience in at least 2 of: recommendation systems, image data, fraud/risk detection, price modelling, or propensity models.
• 5Strong exposure to NLP including text generation, text classification, embeddings, similarity models, user profiling, and feature extraction from unstructured text.
• 6Experience productionizing ML models through APIs, CI/CD, Docker and working on AWS or GCP environments.
